Jelly is one of our new babies, her sire Ben is from a breeder in the US and resides in Nova Scotia, and is a total sweatheart. He is titled in both field and water work, as well as conformation. She is from Halo's first litter, the "Jealousy" litter, and is a real little fireball. This litter was quite an undertaking, from spending 6 days driving to and from Nova Scotia to do the live breeding, to having them born 2 days early, only 3 days after our other litter. This whole litter was a going concern, and Jelly of course is no exception.

Jelly takes everything in stride, letting nothing get in her way. We are really looking forward to what she will be able to do once we hit the show rings and bird fields.

On her first weekend in the official classes, Jelly earns her first points by going Winners twice, picking up 4 points for her Championship, she was 6 months and 3 days old.

At our first shows of 2023 Jelly is reserve and best puppy twice in Woodstock the begining of February, and Winners/Best of winners twice in Woodstock again at the end of February. She was also awarded Best of Breed over specials the second day earning 5 points over the weekend, along with making the cut in the huge sporting group and walking away with Best Puppy in Group. Jelly now sits at 9 points towards her Championship.

Jelly finished her Championship at the Scarborough KC show in Lindsay ON on March 12th, she is the first Halo puppy to earn a Championship and she did it before 10 months of age. Since then she picked up 7 Grand Champion points at the Guelph and District KC show by earning Best of Breed/Best Puppy twice and Select bitch once.

Jelly earned her Field Dog Jr title in May with 3 scores in the high 90's, she is also now only 6 points away from her Grand Champion title. She showed very well at the Vizsla Society of Ontario specialty and walked away with Select bitch out of a wonderful lineup of bitches, expertly handled by her buddy Rayna. She then made the cut in bitches at one of the later all breed shows, huge entries all weekend made for tough competition for this young special.

Jelly reminds us a lot of Vanna, and we are hoping for great things from this little dog. At just 15 months old she is only 2 points shy of her Grand, watch for Jelly and the rest of our string at the National Specialty on September 9th 2023 in Ancaster, ON.

Jelly started a new sport in August, Dock Jumping, and has taken to it like a duck to water, she loves to swim. We are hoping to start competing in this sport in the new year. Jelly also tried out Sprinter, and like all things Jelly does, she excelled, earning 2 qualifying runs and being just one run shy of her first Sprinter title.

Jelly picked up her last few Grand points at the Barrie Kennel and Obedience club show in August, then showed like a pro at the Oakville Kennel Club show and specialties, earning 3 Select Bitch wins over a huge entry, racking up 14 Bronze points over the 3 days.

Jelly earned her first sprinter title, NS, on October 15th, then ran 5 more times that weekend to put her just 81 points away from her next title already. She is running nearly as fast as her mother Halo already, we are eager to see how fast she will get next year after her 2nd birthday.

Jelly travelled with us to Buffalo NY to attend a UKC show November 10th to 12th 2023. There she won best of breed 3 times out of 5, finished her UKC Championship and earned a Group 1 in a huge line up of gun dogs.

Jelly also attended the Vizsla Club of Central New England specialties and although showed well and was in the ribbons in her Bred-By class each time, she did not pick up any points. She joined us on our trip to Michigan for the UKC Premier and participated in the Top Ten competition and all breed shows. She won Best of Breed 2 of the 3 times at the regular show, earned her RACEN title in Precision Coursing and had some awesome jumps off the dock, earning her USJ title (United Sr Jumper), along with her first points towards her USJ champion title. Her best jump so far was 19'7", just 5" shy of the Master level.

Jelly has had a very busy month, pleasing us with her ability to switch from one sport to another, either in the same day, or from one weekend to the next. She showed great at the Ann Arbor Kennel Club show in Monroe MI the first weekend of July, placing in her high quality Bred-By class every day, including 2 specialties. She also participated for the first time in NADD Dock Diving and earned her Dock Sr (DS) title and a new personal best of 20'6". The following weekend we attended our first Sprinter event of 2024 where she finished off her Sprinter title (S). The weekend after that we attended another NADD trial and Jelly bested her personal best by jumping a stellar 21'3", she also completed her Dock Master (DM) title with 4 other jumps over 20'. She has now completed 22 qualifying jumps this season, 11 each in the Senior and Master Divisions. Jelly is currently ranked 4th Vizsla in NADD this season and has received an invite to the regional competition in September.

Jelly also passed her heart and eye clearances while in MI.
